Aftercare
Taking care of your tattoo.
Healing is most of the result. Follow this through the first month and the work settles the way it was drawn.
Do
- Keep the covering on as long as your artist advised
- Wash once with clean hands and unscented soap
- Pat dry with a clean paper towel
- Sleep on clean bedding
Don't
- Don't pick at or rub the area
- Don't soak it in a bath
- Don't apply thick ointment layers
- Don't wear tight clothing over it
What to expect
Redness around the lines, mild swelling and some plasma or ink seepage. The area will feel warm, similar to sunburn.
Common questions.
Yes. Light flaking usually starts around day three to five and lasts about a week. Let it come away on its own rather than pulling it.
