Tattoo Aftercare: The First Week

For the first day, leave the covering on for as long as your artist advised. When you remove it, wash gently with clean hands and unscented soap, then pat dry.

From day two, keep the area clean and lightly moisturised. Thin layers — a heavy coat traps moisture and slows things down.

Expect tightness, some flaking and a dull appearance in the second week. That is normal settling, not fading.
